John Davidson- Managing Director
John’s mining sector career spans three decades, with much of it dominated by his service to CRA on the Bougainville Copper Project.Starting as construction manager (Bechtel Pacific) John’s experience encompasses roles within the supply, retail management, maintenance planning, training management and personnel administration and recruitment.In 1990, John established John Davidson & Associates (JDA) to provide professional recruitment services for mining and construction projects around the globe.Today, John continues to personally drive the future directions of JDA and consults across all employment disciplines with an emphasis on offering advisory services for senior mining professionals.
Neal Stewart- Director JDA
Neal Stewart brings more than 35 years domestic and international business and mining experience to JDA.Neal’s extensive career, principally in the field of human resources, has seen him work across the globe from Papua New Guinea (PNG), the Philippines, Indonesia and the United Kingdom.Domestically, Neal drove the entire human resource effort to establish new operations such as the Bronzewing and Jundee gold mines and the Cawse nickel mine in Western Australia. Earlier, Neal played key managerial roles with the Bougainville operation for CRA and the Kelian gold operation for RIO.Prior to joining JDA, Neal established a successful company that installs soft fall safety rubber into playgrounds, stables and fun parks.Based in Melbourne, Neal will provide strategic expertise to JDA’s PNG operations and manages key stakeholder accounts. He has accepted a Directorship on the company’s Board of Directors. He will also spearhead, JDA’s flagship Executive Search program that will be rolled out across JDA offices in early 2009.
Bob Lee- President Director, JDA-Indonesia
Bob Lee is the President Director of JDA-Indonesia in Jakarta, Indonesia. He has an extensive mining background of more than 25 years within professional and management roles.Bob is a qualified civil engineer and has worked with many high profile and successful projects throughout South East Asia (Hong Kong, Indonesia and PNG). In Hong Kong as construction manager for Leighton Contractors, Bob was responsible for managing the overall success of several civil construction projects, and while in Indonesia and PNG, he spearheaded the development of several large scale mining ventures.Bob commenced with JDA-Indonesia in 2004 and leads JDA’s Indonesian team. His role is to guide the directions of JDA within Indonesia and to work closely with project managers to secure the right people to meet the challenges of this dynamic market.
Pauline Burton- Human Resource Manager
Pauline Burton’s human resource and trade background make her the perfect fit to manage and mentor JDA’s growing workforce.From the Australian Army to QUT and executive coach, Pauline has worked with all levels of management and within some of Australia’s most culturally and socially diverse organisations.Pauline’s success with people management is highlighted by her commitment to creating workplace synergy – matching the organisation and individual goals.Within her role, Pauline will continue to recruit the right people and support them with the right professional development to build and sustain JDA’s human capital.Pauline is a well respected professional who has received numerous scholarship and educational awards for excellence.
Mike Lowry- Manager, Western Region
Mike leads JDA’s Perth based team, which is committed to developing the company’s client base in Western Australia and Africa. Mike has more than thirty years experience in resources industry management and has held senior positions including Chief Executive Officer of The Griffin Coal Mining Company and The Griffin Energy Division. Mike also served as an Executive Councillor on The Chamber of Minerals and Energy for a period of eight years from 1992 to 2000.Mike’s objective is to continually enhance the image of JDA in the eyes of their clients through the delivery of a professional and efficient service so that JDA is always seen as a “Global People Solutions” provider of choice.
Mark Flood- Business Development Manager, Trades and Industria
Mark is a leading Labour Hire recruitment expert with more than 15 years experience within the industry.Mark has an excellent track record for results and exemplary business acumen skills. His experience includes working within project to executive level management positions across several industry sectors, including manufacturing and mining.Primarily, Mark is currently responsible for managing JDA’s key business and industrial relationships in South East Queensland. He is also tasked with advancing the company’s new Export and Business Facilitation products and services.
Dale Wise- Regional Manager, Southern Region Australia
Dale’s extensive senior management experience in global mining and construction industry auxiliary companies both within Australia and internationally make him one of JDA’s leading recruitment managers.Prior to joining JDA in 2006, Dale held country management positions within South East Asia within the explosives industry and senior management and marketing positions for leading quarry and concrete manufacturing companies in Australia.Dale’s role focuses on driving JDA’s growth throughout the southern Australian region and supplying major service contracts to some of the world’s mining and resource sector leaders such as BHPB, Rio Tinto, KPC, Zinifex, Oxiana, Leighton and many more.Dale is a strong leader and outstanding business and marketing acumen. Garry Bradey- Regional Manager, North Queensland
Garry has worked within Queensland’s recruitment and labour hire industry for the past 15 years. Harry Degenaar- JDA Senior Consultant
Harry has a Bachelor Degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering coupled with more than 30 years experience working within the heavy industrial machinery and industrial automation industries.Harry has worked as a Senior Project Manager with industry giants such as Robert Bosch GmbH, SIG Swiss Industrial Company, and Klöckner-Werke AG and has an expert working knowledge of oil refineries, tank farms, oil terminals, tankers, offshore oilrig and industrial automation.Previously, Harry held international roles such as project manager, commissioning/start-up engineer, and business development manager and spent the past ten years working as a senior industrial automation consultant (FMCG) in the Asian region, particularly within China.Harry’s global engineering background makes him an asset to the JDA professional recruitment team.

Kerri Rohlf- Senior Consultant
Kerri is one of JDA’s most valuable recruitment consultants, successfully placing key appointments throughout Asia, Africa, Europe, Papua New Guinea, South America and Australia.Since joining JDA in 1996, Kerri has been responsible the recruitment of staff, through all levels of the organisation and for a number of large off-shore projects as well as the placement of permanent and short-term contractors into the heavy earth moving and mining sectors.Kerri has a strong customer service ethic and works as an integral part of JDA’s Maintenance and Engineering Team. Tim Cornwell- Consultant
Tim is a qualified human resource specialist and holds a Bachelor of Business in Human Resource Management.Prior to commencing with JDA in 2006, Tim worked in customer service and sales positions and understands how to get results.Having spent most of his life in Central Queensland, Tim has grown up in and around the mining and production industries; giving him a unique understanding of the challenges faced by those sectors.His role as a consultant for the mining team focuses on exploring a candidate’s potential for client opportunities based on best practice human resource management.
Paul Creighton- Consultant
Paul joined JDA in 2005 after several years within the warehousing and logistics management industry for companies such as Sanyo Australia, Apple Computer Australia and Danzas AEI. Since then, Paul has been an integral part of JDA’s Industrial Team and has provided quality recruitment services for a wide range of mining, construction and engineering positions.Paul’s solid and practical employment experience and strong relationship skills enable him to understand the employer and employee dynamic, to successfully maintain and create successful long-term results for his clients.
Lyn Bock- Recruitment Consultant – Townsville
Lyn is a highly skilled industrial recruitment consultant with more than six years recruitment industry experience and 30 years work experience in various supervisory and management roles.Prior to commencing with JDA in August 2007, Lyn worked as a team leader for Workpac Industrial where she made more than 1,000 employment placements within a two-year period.Lyn’s recruitment and local market knowledge has helped to support JDA’s rapid growth within the region.Lyn is responsible for increasing awareness of JDA’s services within the labour hire and professional markets and to support regional clients with domestic and overseas placements.
Derek Gorst- Senior Consultant
Derek is one of JDA’s most experienced senior consultants and has worked within the mining sector for nearly 30 years in Australia, Papua New Guinea and Africa.Derek has held senior IT and Maintenance Management positions with the CRA group at Bougainville Copper, and prior to joining JDA, was Administration Manager with Sierra Rutile in West Africa.Derek is a degree qualified Chemical Engineer and has been a member of the AusIMM for more than 40 years. He is responsible for the management of professional appointments as part of JDA’s Professional Placement Division and specialises in technical disciplines such as metallurgy and chemical and electrical engineering.
Len Bowman- Consultant
Len is a qualified electrician with more than 25 years industry experience. He has worked in electrical supervision and plant maintenance and planning roles for major energy and mining projects such as BHP and Rio Tinto within Australia, Papua New Guinea and China.Since commencing with JDA in November 2007, Len’s industry knowledge has proven invaluable in sourcing and placing resources for companies operating both in Australia and overseas markets.Len’s experience has been instrumental in developing process plant and mining equipment maintenance planning and scheduling programs and managing the transition from in-house to MIMS computerised maintenance management systems.Len’s strengths include his broad industry experience in mining and power generation, meticulous attention to detail and ability to deliver on demanding HR assignments for the sector.
Bev Cosgrove- Manager – Communications, Risk and Compliance
Beverley holds a Graduate Certificate in Risk Management and has more than 12 years experience as a risk management professional.Prior to joining JDA in 2006, Beverley worked for a number of years with a top 500 retail company. Her past experience includes the disciplines of insurance, workers compensation, intellectual property, business continuity and fleet management.Since her commencement with JDA, Beverley has worked closely with senior management on re-branding the company’s image and developing its unique occupational health and safety platform.An active member of The Risk Management Institution of Australasia (RMIA), Beverley was recently the first person to be awarded its Certified Risk Management Technician (CRMT) accreditation – a new industry certification recognising operational experience and expertise of managers and specialist practitioners in risk management.Beverley is also the chair of the RMIA’s working group to promote the role of risk managers to Australian businesses and recruitment consultancies.
