BEVERLEY COSGROVE, a member of The Risk Management Institution of Australasia has been awarded its first Certified Risk Management Technician (CRMT).

Ms Cosgrove, a member of RMIA’s Queensland chapter committee and a former national board member, was the first candidate to successfully complete the requirements for CRMT accreditation.

Ms Cosgrove, manager, communications, risk & compliance, for recruitment consultancy John Davidson & Associates, said CRMT was recognition of the experience and expertise she has built over 12 years in risk management.

JDA provides human resources management services to the mining, engineering, construction and oil and gas sectors. It employs more than 140 staff and has offices in Australia, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, New Caledonia and China.

National president Grant Whitehorn who made the presentation at a Queensland RMIA chapter function said her CRMT accreditation was well deserved.

She has been assisting RMIA in a program to increase awareness in the recruitment industry of the CPRM and CRMT accreditations.

“Our goal is to have recruitment agencies and employers fully cognisant of the requirements for each accreditation so the industry understands the calibre, knowledge, skills and experience levels of members who have gained either accreditation,” he said.

CRMT was introduced by RMIA last year as an accreditation for RMIA members who were operationally focused or in specialist areas of practice. The CRMT complements RMIA’s Certified Practising Risk Manager accreditation and is designed to lead to attaining CPRM status.

CRMT is for managers of risk and/or specialist practitioners starting the transition to more senior roles
