Help
Below are a series of articles that describe in detail how to use the various parts of the JDA website.
Help Last Updated: 15/11/2007
1. Applying for Jobs
There are two direct ways to apply to a job advertisement. One is to click the apply now link in the job and the other is to click the Apply Now button at the bottom of the job ad. Both of these options will take you to the application form and the job number will automatically be filled in.
There is an option for you to apply to multiple jobs at once. If when browsing you see a job ad that you are interested in you can click on the check box at the top of the ad. This will add the job to your application list. If you have finished searching for jobs click on the Apply now link/ button of the last job you want to apply for and you will be taken to the application screen with all of the job codes filled in.
Note: You can only apply for up to 5 jobs at once using this method.

2. Registering/ Making a Job Application
Required Fields There are a number of required fields on our registration forms. Each if these fields is marked with a red * and if an incorrect value is entered into the field a red ! will appear next to the field. If you try to submit the registration with incorrect values in the required fields a list of the wrong values will appear in red at the top of the registration form.
Have you applied before This question is used by our staff to assess if you are already on our database. If you have applied before several sections of the form will disappear because will will already have the information.
Personal Information This section is for providing details about who you are and where you are from. This information is very important because it helps to differentiate you from other people with the same name.
Contact Details This is for specifying your phone numbers, email addresses etc.
Experience This section allows you to tell us what skills and experiences you have had in you professions. The first (required) set of skill entry fields should be used to record you primary or current occupation. The other sets of skill entry fields are used to pick up skills you have acquired in other occupations during your career.
CV/ Covering Letter Please make sure that the CV's have all referees/ photos removed and that they are less than 100kb. If you have trouble converting your resume to .doc format you can use the online file conversion utility at Zamzar.
Confirmation and Auto responders When you click the submit button after successfully filling in all mandatory fields the text of the button will change to indicate the data is being submitted. Depending on the speed of your internet connection and the size of your resume it could take a few minutes to submit the form. After the form is submitted you will be taken to a confirmation page and a confirmation email will be sent to your preferred email address.
3. Employers - Submit a Job
If you are a business that needs a mining/ construction/ engineering position filled you can send us the details of the job through this set of forms. Simply fill out each of the required fields then click the submit button. Once done you will receive a confirmation email and a consultant here will contact you to verify the job details.
4. JDA Website Network - Finding Jobs
Recently our main website was broken up to differentiate between the different types of positions we search for. If you are seeking professional long term positions they you will want to go to our www.jdaprofessional.com website. If you are seeking short term contract/ labourhire work then you will want to go to www.jdalabourhire.com. The two large blocks on the jda.com.au home page will take you directly to these sites.
